Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for the dough)
  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add warm water and vegetable oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough for 3-5 minutes until smooth.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface. Divide into 8 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a flat circle about ¼ inch thick.
  5. In a frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully place one piece of dough into the hot oil. Fry for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining dough.
  8. Enjoy warm as is or with toppings.
