Ingredients:
- 1 lb Brioche bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 3 tbsp Unsalted butter, melted
- 21 oz Premium canned apple pie filling
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg
- 2 cups Whole milk
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 4 Large eggs
- 2 Egg yolks
- 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp Vanilla bean paste
- 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
- 1/2 cup Salted caramel sauce
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the brioche cubes on a baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes until they are dry and firm to the touch.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the 4 eggs, 2 egg yolks, and 3/4 cup granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and slightly frothy.
- Slowly whisk in the 2 cups whole milk, 1 cup heavy cream, 1 tbsp vanilla bean paste, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, and 1/2 tsp kosher salt until fully emulsified.
- Grease a 9x13 inch ceramic baking dish with the 3 tbsp of melted butter.
- Toss the toasted bread cubes with the apple pie filling in the prepared dish, ensuring even distribution.
- Pour the custard mixture over the bread and apples. Press down slightly on the bread to ensure every cube is submerged.
- Bake for 45 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from oven and drizzle with 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce while still warm.
