Ingredients:

  • 2 (6-ounce / 170g) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh lemon wedges (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps achieve crispy skin.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place salmon fillets in the bowl with the marinade. Turn to coat evenly. Let marinate for at least 5 minutes (or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator).
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place salmon fillets, skin-side down (if using skin-on fillets), in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  6. Air fry for 8-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork or reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  7. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature. If the salmon is not cooked through, continue air frying for a few more minutes.
  8. Carefully remove the air fryer salmon from the air fryer. Garnish with fresh lemon wedges and chopped parsley, if desired. Serve immediately.
