Ingredients:
- 2 (6-ounce / 170g) salmon fillets, skin on or off
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) lemon juice, freshly squeezed
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh lemon wedges (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions:
- Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps achieve crispy skin.
- In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Place salmon fillets in the bowl with the marinade. Turn to coat evenly. Let marinate for at least 5 minutes (or up to 30 minutes in the refrigerator).
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- Place salmon fillets, skin-side down (if using skin-on fillets), in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
- Air fry for 8-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork or reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature. If the salmon is not cooked through, continue air frying for a few more minutes.
- Carefully remove the air fryer salmon from the air fryer. Garnish with fresh lemon wedges and chopped parsley, if desired. Serve immediately.
