Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (450g) fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch (5cm) pieces
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

Instructions:

  1. Trim the woody ends of the asparagus spears. Cut the spears into roughly 2-inch pieces.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the cut asparagus with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Ensure all pieces are evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) if your air fryer requires preheating. Arrange the asparagus in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; work in batches if necessary.
  4. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the asparagus is tender-crisp and slightly browned. Check for doneness after 8 minutes - you want a slight bite.
  5. Remove the air-fried asparagus from the basket and serve immediately.
